Book Study: Part #1 (Thanksgiving Menu)

A few friends and I got together this evening for our first session of the THM book study, which goes through the new "Trim Healthy Mama Plan" book in six studies.  (It suggested six weeks, but we are going to go through it in six months.)  Here is the link in case you missed the *free* THM book study guide:  www.trimhealthymama.com/newbooks.  It is a great discussion starter and also has fun quizzes and games to play, depending on the chapters that you read.

It was a great night of conversation, discussion, and DINING on yummy THM food!  We had a Thanksgiving menu to get ideas for possible sides, etc., for the upcoming holiday celebrations.  Here are a few pictures of our night, along with the recipe links.  Enjoy!

The obvious supplement to our evening

A few items from my pantry which served as
conversation starters

(NOTE:  White wine does not normally pair with an "S" meal,
but the wine not actually consumed.  It is put in the bottom
of the roasting pan to add aromatics and flavor.)

Roasted Butternut Squash with Gorgonzola & Pecans
This is my new favorite side!  Easy to prepare
and PERFECT for Thanksgiving dinner!

Roasted Asparagus
There is not a real recipe for this.  I just drizzle olive oil
over trimmed asparagus, and then sprinkle with mineral
salt and black pepper.  Bake at 400F for about 8 - 10 min.
I like it to get a little crispy!  :)

Three-Ingredient Truffles
I accidentally forgot to take a picture of these.  Sorry!
They were good, but needed to go in the fridge to set.
I added a couple of drops of essential orange oil
to make an orange chocolate blend.  Yum!!
